В середине 40-х Дисней начинает вынашивать идею о создании парка, где дети и родители могли бы отдыхать и веселиться вместе. На такую мысль его подтолкнули прогулки с дочками: в то время пока девочки бегали по детской площадке, отец скучал на лавочке.

В 1955 году в городе Анахайме открылся первый Диснейленд. Только представьте: человек, в детстве которого не было места игрушкам, сумел воплотить в жизнь настоящую страну мечты – не только на голубом экране, но и в реальности.

Дисней не ограничивается ничем. Он начинает заниматься выпуском развлекательных телепередач, а в 1961-ом даже основывает Институт Искусств в Калифорнии.

К сожалению, воплощения всех результатов своей безграничной фантазии легендарному художнику увидеть было не суждено. 15 декабря 1966 года он умер.

• 22 has had previous mentors in the form of historical figures such as Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Mother Teresa, Muhammad Ali, Copernicus, Archimedes, and Marie Antoinette.
• 22 sounds like a «middle-aged white lady» because, according to her, it is the most annoying voice she could think of, adding that she could sound like whoever she wants.
• Whenever 22 shapeshifts into someone, she still has her purple eyes.
• When 22 and Joe enter the Astral Plane, she claims that she has been messing with the New York Knicks for decades, which is a reference to the Knicks’ reputation of continually losing games.
• Her box contains items such as her previous mentors’ name tags, the Pixar Ball, among other items. The name tags are in all different languages, hinting that she understands multiple languages.
• Near the end of the movie, when she finally heads to Earth, she is facing Asia, more specifically western China, hinting that her human life will be spent as an Asian/Chinese person/animal. However, the directors hinted at the possibility of 22 being of Indian decent, as that was considered one of the original endings.
• Though 22 goes by she/her pronouns, she is not considered female and has no gender, as souls can choose what they sound like.
• 22 was the twenty-second human ever created, presumably in the history of the world. This is of course how she earns her namesake throughout the film.
  • Her name is also a play on the phrase «catch-22,» which is a paradoxical situation from which someone can’t escape from because of contradictory rules or limitations.
  • In a possible coincidence, 22 Pixar feature films have been released before Soul

    In another coincidence, Joe’s heart monitor machine model is a «SmrtVu PX-22».

• At one point, the filmmakers considered ending the movie with Joe meeting 22 in human form, but abandoned this idea because every version they tried always felt unfulfilling.
• According to 22, she is content being in the Great Before. She has her routine which includes, floating in the mist, doing her sudoku puzzles, and, once a week, is forced to attend a You Seminar.
• 22’s personality seems very similar to today’s average teenager’s.

Synopsis

Joe Gardner is a middle school band teacher with a love for jazz music. After a successful gig at the Half Note Club, he suddenly gets into an accident that separates his soul from his body and is transported to The Great Before, the place where all souls go before being either reincarnated as newborn babies, or transported to the Great Beyond. Joe must enlist help from the other souls-in-training, like , a soul who has spent eons in the You Seminar, in order to get back to the Land of the Living before he dies, while also avoiding a soul-counter named Terry, who tries to bring Joe back to the Great Before.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Chuggington, Imagination Movers, Jungle Junction, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, Special Agent Oso, and Timmy Time, all popular Playhouse Disney series, were moved to the block and continue to broadcast.

Disney Junior broadcasts from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm ET/PT (6:00 am to 10:30 am ET/PT during the summer months and designated school break periods) on weekdays, and from 6:00 am to 9:00 am ET/PT on weekends, each running a different schedule. They feature 24-minute standard length shows, interspersed with short 3-5 minute shorts and music videos. Amongst these shorts are A Poem Is…, The Bite-Sized Adventures of Sam Sandwich, Choo Choo Soul, Small Potatoes, and several others. Like Disney Channel, Disney Junior is a commercial-free service, but it does short «promotional spots», which runs every so often, such as often seen on PBS. Between 4:00 and 6:00, when Disney Channel animated programs air under the regular Disney Channel branding, there are commercials for Disney properties as there are for other Disney Channel programs. Although Disney Junior does not air standard ads, it utilizes underwriter sponsorship by companies such as ABCmouse.com and Huggies, for its programs.

Former shows on the former Playhouse Disney block, as well as previous Disney shows based on pre-existing franchises, will air reruns by popular demand on the Disney Junior channel in its launch on March 23, , replacing Soapnet.

Over its more than 90 year history, Disney has brought to life more than 127 different villains from films, sequels, television, video games, books and even the Disney theme parks. Although many different evil characters and enemies have been created, not all of them are official members of the Disney Villains franchise.

Conversely, some of the «villains» that are marketed are not necessarily villains since they do not fully agree with the primary antagonists but still cause trouble to the protagonists; Sour Bill being one such example («villain» and «antagonist» are not the same thing).
