Customised products sold by third-party sellers fall under the A-to-z Guarantee. To file a claim for these items please note the following:

  • You must notify the third-party Seller within 14 days of receipt.
  • If the item contains personal configuration, inscription, or design on these products, the third-party Seller is not required to accept returns or exchanges unless the products are damaged or defective upon arrival or materially different from what was ordered.
  • If there is a misspelling or error in the configuration, inscription, or design due to a mistake by the third-party Seller, you are protected per the Amazon A-to-z Guarantee.
  • All product packaging (such as boxes) and if applicable; certificates of authenticity, grading, and appraisal must be returned with the item. Products missing all their applicable tags are not acceptable for return.

One-Day Delivery and Premium Delivery

Media costs £3.99 per delivery. Media consists of books, music, DVD, video games and software. All other product categories cost £4.99 per delivery. There is no extra cost for Amazon Prime members. See Prime Delivery for more information.

Premium Delivery to an Amazon Hub Locker or Pickup Location costs £2.99 for all eligible items for non-Prime members.

Delivery occurs one business day after dispatch, including Saturdays, but not including public holidays. Parcels to residential addresses may be delivered on a Sunday.

The charge is per delivery for non-Prime customers. There is no extra charge per eligible item in the delivery.

Receive Donations

How does my charity receive the donations?

Each quarter, Amazon makes donations to eligible charitable organisations by electronic funds transfer. Donations will be transferred within 28 days after the end of the following calendar quarter. To account for product returns, we may reduce the amount of donations in a given calendar quarter and add it to the subsequent quarter, subject to any reduction due to returns from prior quarters. See the AmazonSmile Participation Agreement for more details.

What happens if we do not enrol our charitable organisation and provide a bank account for an electronic transfer?

If you do not enrol your charitable organisation, including providing accurate bank account information for an electronic transfer, AmazonSmile customers cannot select your charitable organisation to receive donations from Amazon. You must enrol in order to appear as an option for customers to select your charitable organisation.

How much of the customers’ purchase price does Amazon donate?

Amazon will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of eligible purchases to the charitable organisations that customers select. The purchase price for each item is the purchase price, excluding shipping, handling, gift-wrapping fees, VAT, and service charges, and less any rebates, returns, and bad debt. Certain items are not eligible and will not result in donations.

What purchases are eligible for donations?

Millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages. Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible. For more information, see Qualifying Purchases in the AmazonSmile Participation Agreement.

In order to receive a donation disbursement, what is the minimum amount my organisation needs to have accrued from customer purchases?

The minimum amount a charitable organisation must accrue to receive a quarterly donation is £5.00. If the total donation amount due to your organisation, based on the purchases by all customers who selected your charitable organisation, is less than £5.00 as of the end of a given calendar quarter, AmazonSmile will hold the donation amounts and add them to donation amounts allocated to your organisation in subsequent calendar quarters. However, if you have an accrued donation that remains below £5.00 for four consecutive quarters, Amazon will disburse accrued donation amounts to you in the donation cycle following the fourth quarter, even if the donation amount is less than £5.00. Can I view the amount of donations my charitable organisation has received?

We currently do not provide reports that enable viewing of donations received.

I enroled but didn’t receive a donation. What happened?

Amazon Global Store Items

Most Amazon Global Store items can be returned within 30 days of receipt of delivery. Please use the online Returns Support Centre. It can take up to 15 — 25 days for an item to be received at our fulfilment centre, and it takes 2 business days from time of receipt for the refund to be processed and 3-5 business days for the refund amount to reflect in your account. For incorrect, defective, or damaged items, you’ll be refunded for original delivery costs, as well any Import Fees Deposit(s) for the returned item(s), once your return is processed.

For most Amazon Global Store items, you will be provided with a pre-paid UPS return label, which allows you to return the item(s) to any UPS drop-off point located across the UK. You can find your most convenient UPS location using the following link:

However, please note that not all items are eligible for return to a UPS location and your return label may require you to return the item at your own expense. Amazon will automatically refund up to £20 for return postage costs (for items sold by Amazon US), and up to £15 for return postage costs (for items sold by Amazon EU). Will you share information about the amount of money Amazon donates to my organisation?

We may occasionally publicly disclose the amount of donations to all charitable organisations or particular organisations resulting from the AmazonSmile programme or otherwise made by Amazon; however, we will never disclose information that ties donations made to individual customers.

Will you share with my organisation information about the AmazonSmile customers who have selected to support my organisation?

No. Amazon will not share individual customer information with you regarding customers who have selected to support your organisation. Please see the Amazon.co.uk Privacy Notice for more information.

Returns Costs & Methods

Amazon will refund the cost of sending an item back to us if it’s defective, damaged or incorrect or, if you’re returning shoes, clothing, jewellery or watches that were sold or dispatched by Amazon (made-on-demand Collection items from , that are not defective, damaged or incorrect, are not eligible for free returns. See more information here). In many cases, we’ll provide you with a pre-paid returns label. If your return is not the result of an Amazon error, and you’re using a pre-paid return label, we’ll deduct the cost of the return from your refund. For returns from within the UK, costs start at £3.99. International return costs start at £8.09. Please note that returns that contain multiple items, or large items, may cost more. We offer various returns methods which will differ depending on the item(s) you’re returning. We’ll always display the most accurate return costs and methods available for your item(s) when you create your label.

Removal of personal data

When returning a product for any reason, you must do so in the exact conditions you received it from Amazon. In this respect you must entirely delete, remove and eliminate all personal data pertaining to you and/or any third party which may be possibly present in same item, and must de-latch any account possibly latched to same item. You will be fully responsible for any data breach that may occur if you fail to do so. You must remove from the returned product and from the box containing the returned product any item not pertaining to the returned product as originally received from Amazon. Amazon will not be responsible for any such items erroneously left by you within the returned product or within the box containing the returned product. You agree and accept that the returned product will become Amazon’s property, and that Amazon is therefore entitled to sell it to third parties at Amazon’s full discretion.

How do I enrol to receive donations for my charitable organisation?

In order to enrol and receive donations, you must be an official representative of an eligible
organisation, and then follow these easy steps:

  1. Search for your charitable organisation by name or registered charity number and then select the organisation you represent. Be sure to confirm you are selecting the correct organisation, as many charitable organisations have similar names.
  2. Create an organisation administrator account and accept the AmazonSmile Participation Agreement on behalf of your organisation.
  3. Verify your email address (we recommend that you use an email address that is associated with your charitable organisation).
  4. Submit your organisation’s bank account information.
  5. Upload a copy of a bank statement to verify your organisation’s bank account information.

What is an organisation administrator?

An organisation administrator is an official representative of an organisation that has authority to access and manage AmazonSmile programme information on behalf of their charitable organisation.

Can you mail our organisation a donation cheque instead of sending an electronic funds transfer?

We do not mail donation cheques due to the expense of cheque processing and fulfillment. We distribute donations using electronic transfer to reduce operational expenses so we can donate 100% of the funds to eligible charitable organisations.

Will customers still be able to select my charitable organisation if I don’t enrol?

If you do not enrol your charitable organisation, including providing accurate bank account information for an electronic transfer, AmazonSmile customers cannot select your charitable organisation to receive donations from Amazon. You must enrol in order to appear as an option for customers to select your charitable organisation.

What happens if another person has already enroled my charitable organisation and they were not authorised to do so?

If your organisation has been enroled by an unauthorised person please contact us.

What are other considerations for my charity?

Our Voluntary Returns Policy

As well as your statutory cancellation rights described above, you can return most products from the Amazon sites to Amazon within 30 days of receipt of the products if the products are in an unused and undamaged condition. To return an item please .

Please note that this returns policy doesn’t affect your statutory rights and therefore doesn’t affect your right of cancellation as described above.

Please note that you must return each item in the same condition in which you received it. This means that new items must be returned unused and undamaged. Used items must not have any additional signs of use or damage.

The same exclusions apply to our Returns Guarantee as for the right of withdrawal. The following products thus cannot be returned under the Returns Guarantee (unless defective):

  • Products which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygienic reasons if unsealed by you after delivery, or which are, after delivery, inseparably mixed with other items;
  • Sealed audio or video recordings or of sealed software if unsealed by you after delivery;
  • Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalized, especially personalized Amazon Handmade items;
  • Goods which may deteriorate or expire rapidly;
  • A service, if the supplier has fully performed it and you accepted when you placed your order that the supplier could start to deliver it, and that you could not cancel it once delivery had started;
  • Digital content (including apps, digital software, ebooks, MP3, etc) which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that the supplier could start to deliver it, and that you could not cancel it once delivery had started
  • Newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts;
  • Alcoholic beverages whose actual value is dependent on fluctuations in the market which the supplier cannot control

Defective Items After 30 Days

Troubleshooting and product support may be available to resolve any issues with your product, as outlined in the Product Support Help page. If your item becomes defective after the Amazon return period, Amazon will repair any defective item. The repair will be completed by the manufacturer or by a third-party repair service provider authorised by the manufacturers to repair their products. If a repair is not possible, we’ll send you a replacement, and if a replacement is not available, we will refund the purchase price. Repair is only available for qualifying items sold by Amazon.co.uk or Amazon Warehouse. Amazon does not accept a return after 30 days for consumable products (e.g. batteries, fuses, ink, light bulbs, etc.) or if the defect is due to accidental damage, deliberate damage, caused by external factors, or general wear and tear.
